Speech and Language Speciality
I am also a qualified Speech and Language Therapist accredited by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Given this I am particularly experienced in working with the effects on people of communication difficulties such as those due to stroke, head injury or neurological conditions.
I am also particularly interested in working in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs).
What to expect
All sessions take place in a comfortable and confidential setting at the Sunflower Centre, our dedicated support centre situated in Sherwood, Nottingham (view on Google Maps).
Our first meeting
We would meet initially for a general discussion, where we can get to know each other and you can ask me any questions you have about my approach, background or training. I will do my best to answer your questions and give you any information you need about confidentiality, frequency and duration of meetings or anything else. This is designed to help you know whether the approach I offer is right for you and your needs.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail with any questions.
Open to everyone
Individuals, couples, families and groups are also all welcome.

I am a qualified and registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in Nottingham. My registrations are with The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). I abide by the Codes of Ethics of both of these professional bodies.
My initial trainings in counselling were at Leicester University and at Nottingham Counselling Service in the mid 1980s. These were psycho-dynamically orientated. I soon followed these up by training in psychotherapy at the Sherwood Institute in Nottingham from 1987 to 1992. My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is from a Relational-Integrative approach and my most recent training will support me to become certified with the International Integrative Psychotherapy Association (IIPA).
Autism Spectrum Disorders
In 2000 I also trained and registered as a Speech and Language Therapist and as such have a particular interest in working people and families affected by communication difficulties, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs).
I also provide clinical supervision services.
I provide clinical supervision for experienced Counsellors and Psychotherapists as well as for students at all levels of training.
I also provide supervision and other services for statutory, voluntary and private organisations.
I am registered as a Clinical Supervisor by The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI).
